Black Forest - hiking, cycling & pure nature
The central Black Forest begins right on our doorstep: picturesque valleys, dense forests and charming villages are just waiting to be discovered. Numerous hiking and cycling trails, such as the Schuttertal cycle path or the Ortenau castle route, invite you to enjoy active recreation.
- The treetop walk leads over footbridges and towers through the treetops of the Black Forest and offers breathtaking views. Visitors learn a lot about the flora and fauna of the region on the approximately 1.5 km long circular trail. A viewing tower with panoramic views awaits at the end.
- Lake Mummelsee is an idyllic mountain lake in the northern Black Forest. It lies at an altitude of around 1,000 metres and is surrounded by fairytale forests. You can hike here, walk around the lake or simply enjoy the peace and quiet.
- The Black Forest National Park is a beautiful nature reserve with numerous hiking trails that lead through dense forests and along streams. - The Feldberg is the highest mountain in the Black Forest and a popular destination for hiking and winter sports. In winter it is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders, while in summer hikers and nature lovers can enjoy the magnificent views.

The Eagle and Wolf Park in Kintzheim is a great attraction that specialises in birds of prey such as eagles, vultures and falcons as well as wolves. Visitors can experience these impressive animals in a natural environment and take part in flight demonstrations where the birds show off their hunting techniques. The wolves can also be observed in their enclosure.
- The Haut-Koenigsbourg castle (Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg) is one of the most famous and impressive castles in Alsace. It is located around 10 kilometres north-west of Kintzheim and is enthroned on the Haut-Koenigsberg, one of the highest mountains in Alsace. The castle offers interesting exhibitions and an authentic insight into the history of the region.
